CONNECTICUT DRESSAGE & COMBINED TRAINING ASSOCIATION
CDCTA
CDCTA is a volunteer run non-profit organization committed to providing instruction, education, and competition opportunities or dressage and event riders in Connecticut, as well as promoting horse care and safety for our members.
|
The purpose of the Association is to educate horse and rider in classical dressage and combined training with assistance from recognized authorities. To this end, the Association shall provide clinics, lectures, schooling shows, recognized shows, and other educational activities.
|
Dressage Tests
The purpose of dressage is to demonstrate the harmony and ability of a horse through prescribed movements. We offer USDF/USEF tests, Eventing TOC, Western dressage, leadline dressage, and numerous options for open, amateur, and junior riders. |

Combined Tests
A combined test is a competition in which you and your horse complete a dressage test and then jump a show jumping course. It’s similar to a three-phase horse trials event, but you don’t jump a cross-country course. We offer pre-elementary to training combined tests. We also offer single jumping rounds. |
Clinics, Lectures and More...
We offer a variety of clinics and lectures throughout the year. From yoga, to ride-critique-ride, cross-country, to musical freestyles. Check out our calendar! |

Awards
At each show we award up to six ribbons and offer high point, junior, best score (combined training), Thoroughbred Incentive Program, and National Dressage Pony Cup awards. We offer a year end banquet where we award dressage awards, combined training awards, eventing awards, Thoroughbred Incentive Program awards, National Dressage Pony Cup awards, trainer awards, and other special awards. |
