Ernie Award

The Ernie Award was donated by a past Ernie rider’s family to celebrate the awesome horse.
Awarded to the best dressage score in either a dressage or eventing competition received by a Junior or Adult Amateur. ​

About Ernie

Trainer of the Year

PURPOSE:
  • To recognize the trainer who supports CDCTA by bringing the most students to CDCTA shows over the 2025 season

RULES:
  • Trainer must be a CDCTA Member at the time of the event.
  • Rider must be a CDCTA Member at the time of the event.
  • Trainer must have a minimum of 3 horse and rider combinations to qualify.
  • Trainer must have participants at 2 out of 4 CDCTA Shows.
AWARD: $100 check made out to the Trainer of the Year.

CDCTA Supporting Barn of the Year

PURPOSE: 
  • To recognize the Barn (or Group) who support CDCTA activities. ​

PROCESS: 
  • A Barn can either be a farm/stable, or a Group of riders who come together to CDCTA Events.
  • A space to identify a rider’s Barn will be added to all CDCTA clinic, symposium and show entry forms. ​
  • Points will be tracked by a CDCTA official and tallied for the annual awards ceremony. 
  • The Barn with the highest number of participants who have attended CDCTA clinics, symposiums and shows will win the CDCTA Supporting Barn of the Year Award. 
  • One point will be earned by the Barn each time their member participates with a horse in a CDCTA clinic, symposiums or show (the number of classes entered or number of times ridden is irrelevant.)
  • One point will also be earned for every person that volunteers with any CDCTA activity.

Thoroughbred Incentive Program Awards

  • High Point Dressage Thoroughbred
  • High Point Thoroughbred (all divisions)
  • Junior Rider High Point Award (all divisions/disciplines)
  • Dressage High Point Young Thoroughbred Award- The Jockey Club T.I.P. High Point Young Thoroughbred Award will be given to the highest placing Thoroughbred at the competition (regardless of division) that is in its first or second year of showing.
  • Green OTTB High Point Award (all divisions)- The Jockey Club T.I.P.  Green OTTB High Point Award will be given to the highest placing Thoroughbred at the competition (regardless of division/discipline) that raced within the past two years.
