General Rules and Guidelines:
- A negative Coggins test dated within one year of the show date is mandatory and must accompany entry. Current certificates uploaded to EventEntries will be kept on file for the year for each show you enter.
- The show will run in accordance with the relevant USEF/USDF/USEA/WDAA/USAWE rules. Please make sure you are familiar with the rules that pertain to the classes you are entering.
- CDCTA has a three dressage test maximum per horse (this does not include leadline tests.) Show participants are welcome and encouraged to enter more than one combined test level and a horse may go in multiple classes with different riders as long as it does not exceed the three dressage test limit.
- All competitors must wear helmets that are ASTM/SEI certified when mounted.
- Classes may be combined, split, or cancelled at the discretion of management.
- Please treat the show grounds as you would your own property.
- Please no alcohol or family pets at any CDCTA show.
- CDCTA allows riders to complete their dressage tests in bitless bridles, but they must ride hors concours (HC - rider will receive a score but not be included in final placings). Please let the secretary know when you enter that you will be riding HC. HC scores are not eligible for Year End Awards. Riders competing in WDAA test may use bitless bridles where WDAA rules allow without riding HC.
Leadline Dressage Rules:
- Walk and walk/trot leadline dressage classes as well as the leadline combined test class are open to riders 8 years and under who have never competed in any riding class other than Leadline at a horse show
- Riders may show traditional or western dressage
- Riders are required to direct their own mounts; handler’s interference will be penalized
- Posting diagonals will not count
- No covered stirrups allowed
- Handler must be 14 years or older and dressed in neat, appropriate attire. Side walkers are allowed without penalty for exhibitors 3 years and under
- Grab straps are permitted, but usage is subject to penalty at the discretion of the judge
- CDCTA utilizes their own leadline dressage tests for the shows which can be found here: http://www.cdctaonline.com/uploads/6/6/1/4/66145613/leadline-dressage-test-a___b-2011.pdf
