Infinity Farm in Columbia, CT hosted an engaging clinic on Sunday for CDCTA. Barbara ‘Bobbi’ Archambault taught riders and auditors alike about PEMF technology. First, she had clinicians either lunge or ride their horses. While riding, Bobbi pointed out areas that she noticed were uneven or seemed to be sore. She then followed this up with an unmounted portion where she used her experience as massage therapist to pick out areas of need on the horse’s body. This is when the horse was introduced to the PEMF technology. The PEMF machine uses a magnetic pulse to delve deep into the circulatory and muscular system to alleviate pain and increase blood supply. The horses were certainly sold! While a little wary of the device to begin, once the therapy session began the horses clearly relaxed and relished the experience. Bobbi informed the audience that the best results are typically seen after 3 days, but you could ride your horse right after treatment. A day later, a difference could already be seen in my lesson horse, Billy as he picked up his gaits quicker and was much more responsive to his rider. I am looking forward to what day three brings! It was a fun, informative day that the horses clearly benefitted from.
