***NEW*** Notes from the Board (July)

Next up for CDCTA is the MVHC show and so far it has been a great year. A big thank you to Robin Cassella for organizing the Horsemanship 101 clinic and to Ann Bowie for organizing the Heidi White Cross Country Clinic. Hopefully you have been able to either participate, audit or volunteer at one of these functions.

The Centered Riding Clinic entry should be posted shortly. CDCTA was able to secure a grant from the Dressage Foundation Sally Swift that will make this clinic very affordable. We are very lucky that the Dressage Foundation is able to offer such programs.

Then we have a Schooling Dressage and Combined test at the Woodstock fair grounds on a sat followed by a recognized Dressage show on Sunday. Shortly you should be receiving an email from me asking what you would like to see the club offer for activities for next year. We had a great response last year and were able to do a lot of things that were suggested, but not all of them. If you sent in an idea and we didn’t get a chance to do it, please feel free to send it in again or maybe there is something new you would like to suggest.

We still are in need of a Vice-President and someone to manage the shows for 2015. Last thing. Did you ever wonder what the lesson lotto was and how people got chosen to receive the lesson lotto. Well, every time you volunteer the organizer of that event puts your name in for lesson lotto, which is drawn every quarter. If you volunteer 4 times during a quarter your name is entered 4 times. We draw 1 name from all of the volunteers and then CDCTA pays for $100 worth of lessons from the trainer of your choice. So volunteer often

There are changes to the year-end award criteria this year. They are as follows,

1. You need to get 2 of your year-end schooling scores from 2 different CDCTA schooling shows to be eligible for a year-end Schooling show award.

2. You need to have a score from the CDCTA recognized dressage show to be eligible for a CDCTA recognized dressage year-end award.

CDCTA has affiliated with The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) for 2014 to offer high point ribbons. Click here for details.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note, the volunteer voucher program has been suspended for 2014. Any voucher that were issued in 2013 will be honored. We still have lots of benefits to those who generously give their time to support the club. An update will be coming shortly once we finalize the details.
